Dr. Im is the founder of the practice in 2014. He graduated from the GNU College of Veterinary Medicine and received his DVM from AVMA & CVMA. He has a special interest in geriatrics and improving quality of life for older pets, using Chinese medicine (acupuncture and herbals) integrated with Western medicine to manage chronic pain and other issues.

What Dan finds most rewarding about his work is the daily opportunity to observe the strength and beauty of the human-animal bond. While he enjoys the challenges of many aspects veterinary medicine, he is especially interested in emergency and critical care, surgery, public health, and integrative medicine including acupuncture and herbal medicine.

He is a certified veterinary acupuncturist, and studied at the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Gainesville, Florida. He is still continuing his studies on Chinese veterinary herbal medicine and Tui-na (a hands on therapy combining acupressure and massage).

Dr. Im is a member of prestigious local and national veterinary organizations including the American Veterinary Medical Association(AVMA), the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association(CVMA), the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia (CVBC), and the American Association of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine(AATCVM). He is also a member of CVM(Christian Veterinary Mission) and joined for service with Navajo Nation in September 2015 for surgery. When not working, he enjoys life with his wife Rebekah, his two daughters, and their dog Tuna. He finds his peace volunteering in our community and neighbor groups, running the extensive trails of Greater Vancouver, and playing in the mountains, both climbing and hiking.
